In 2006, she received a motion picture star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for her achievements in the film industry. For American Beauty, Bening won the BAFTA Award and the Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Actress. She has also received two Golden Globe Awards for her performances in Being Julia and The Kids Are All Right.
